I bought a load of old coffee sacks the other day (craft projects ahoy! Look out for future posts for what happens to them…) and there were a few green coffee beans remaining in some of the sacks. So I gathered them up – there was maybe half a cup full – and I
- Washed the beans
- Roasted the beans in a dry pan on the hob
- Ground the beans
- Frothed some soya milk
- Made an espresso
- Put it all together and
- Ta da! Soya latte!
From green beans to soya latte took ages – about 40 minutes from start to finish and most of that was roasting the beans – but it was worth it. The coffee was smooth, strong and delicious. I only have one cup of coffee a day, it was free, it was delicious and it was worth the effort. Happy!
