I hope you have had a great week! I’m still at the hard landscaping – and no, I don’t have a large garden, it is tiny but we have razed what was there to the ground… It is taking forever and is really, hard work. We have made harder work for ourselves with deciding to have some plastering done and now need to redecorate the whole of the ground floor… 🙂 Onwards and upwards!!!
However, we still need to eat and summer brings amazing produce and thoughts of alfresco dining (who ever says that in real life?), picnics, salads and easy to make food. Eating ripe, in season peaches reminds you how good seasonal produce can be. I always go for seasonal food and avoid air-freighted food. Ultimately seasonal food tastes sooo much better and it is better for the environment in multiple ways.

I love Fennel, Radish and Orange Salad! It is light, zingy, super fresh, seasonal and super easy. Wonderful for picnics – just dress it when you serve to keep it really fresh.
One of my all-time favourite recipes is Mushroom Risotto with Grilled Mushrooms and Tarragon. The risotto itself is a wonderful bowl of unctuous, creamy, rice that has just the right texture to elevate it to grown-up food. Grilling the mushrooms and serving them on top of the risotto just takes the flavour and texture to another level. It is a wonderful, quick and easy meal that also looks stunning.
I say ‘favourite’ about quite a few of my recipes but they truly are my favourites – I do only share recipes I really love and love to cook and eat. They are tried and tested and ‘real’.Â
