Twenty minutes? Surely not? Oh yeh – totally possible. I love macrame. It feels like a bit of a leap to call this macrame – but it is. Macrame is making stuff out of knotted string. This Macrame Plant Pot Holder only needs 10.2 metres of string, a pair of scissors, a plant you want to hang and somewhere to hang it. You can have it in 20 minutes (or less!).
There was a lot of macrame going on in the 1970s and I think the reputation of macrame was a little tarnished by the amount of tassels but the craft revival is reviving every craft and macrame will not get left behind. Macrame is so flexible, quick and cheap and in the right hands it looks amazing.
I like this design because it is so simple and classy. But what I also love is that it is so flxible: plant pot size, length, materials and so on. Want to go fancy? Get some beads, wire or whatever catches your eye.
