Bucks Fizz is also known as Mimosa and is basically fizzy white wine of your choice (Champagne, Prosecco, Cava etc.) and orange juice. Champagne with the addition of orange juice seems to make early morning drinking on feast days acceptable. It’s gluten-free and vegan and you are getting one of your fruits and vegetables a day. So, once or twice a year it’s okay (isn’t it?). I can’t talk about this cocktail without singing #Makin’ your mind up… (Ahem! One for the teenagers there!)
Perfect Christmas day brunch, breakfast… or as an aperitif ahead of dinner. Or indeed any celebration. I have had this at lots and lots of weddings. Great for toasts too. A simple, delicious, not too sweet cocktail. Pretty sophisticated in it’s simplicity.
If you are serving Bucks Fizz early in the day, or a little while before a meal, you may well need some snacks or canapes to ‘line your stomach’. I can heartily recommend Potato and Butternut Squash Rosti as great canapes to serve. Or how about Gluten Free Vegan Rosemary and Sea Salt Crackers with Black Olive Tapenade and Houmous – Garlic Free? Delicious!
Allergy Information – Bucks Fizz

Top Tips – Bucks Fizz
The rough proportions of this cocktail are one-third orange juice to two-thirds Champagne. You can vary these according to taste.
As with all fizzy wine, don’t let it go flat. And, you don’t need me to tell you not to drink too much, otherwise you may feel unwell the next day!
Not all Champagne, Cava or prosecco are vegan – many are not. Most are gluten free. Check your tipple of choice on supermarket or retailer websites which allow you to filter searches for gluten-free and vegan so it should be easy to work out which fizzy wines are suitable.
