I adore Turmeric Tea Latte. The flavour is sublime. It has a depth of flavour that thin tasting herbal teas do not have. Totally gluten-free and vegan. More importantly delicious!
I gave up on fruit and herbal teas (unless we are talking about fresh herb tea, fresh ginger tea etc.) years ago. When you make a cup of fruit tea, for example, and it is a wonderful deep red, Vimto like red, it looks like it will taste delicious (may be even like Vimto – please!). What it actually tastes of is washing up water. Pointless, tasteless and a waste of money.
I had put turmeric tea in to the ‘just cut out the middle-man and tip it down the sink’ category. I was wrong. Very wrong. I researched recipes and didn’t find anything that quite suited me – I do not like sweet drinks, I like flavour. I love latte. Plus I have a stack of fresh turmeric root in the freezer. I wanted to use the real thing. So I made something that I love.
If you like this recipe you will LOVE… Banana, Peanut Butter and Almond Smoothie, Pear and Cinnamon Smoothie and Turmeric, Carrot and Orange Smoothie. Delicious!

Top Tips – Turmeric Tea Latte
I did go a little overboard with some rather ‘make you cough’ chilli one time and learned that lesson. Less is more.
I do not like sweet drinks so have not used any sweetener. You really do not need it. You can sweeten to taste.
You can use any unsweetened non-dairy milk you prefer. Soya milk foams very well but almond milk works great too.
If you have a coffee machine with a foamer use that to foam the milk or a hand foamer. If you don’t have a milk foamer don’t worry. It doesn’t change the taste. Just warm the non-dairy milk before adding the turmeric tea.
